Call for applications for a Data Analyst for various research projects in the framework of the Security Radar 2025

Deadline 20 February 2025

Who are we?

The FES Regional Office for International Cooperation - Cooperation and Peace deals with the profound challenges to European security. Russia's invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 was a turning point for security in Europe and has rendered previous visions of the European order obsolete. In these uncertain times, our office is working with experts, politicians, and policy planners from Eastern Europe, Russia, the EU, and the US to develop new ideas for solution-oriented policymaking. Our activities include

  • holding regional and international workshops with the aim of developing new concepts for stabilizing the security situation, dealing with conflicts and achieving lasting peace in Europe;
  • fostering a regional network of young experts;
  • performing regular public opinion surveys on security issues;
  • co-operation with the OSCE in the politico-military, economic and environmental, and the human dimension of security.

What is it about?

The Security Radar is our flagship study on European security and is based on regular representative opinion polls in various OSCE countries. So far, the Security Radar has been conducted in 2019, 2022, and 2023. Its latest edition is from autumn 2024, when we polled 14 countries, among which are also Russia and Ukraine. Please see https://peace.fes.de/security-radar.html for first analyses of its data and media reports.
