Internship

FES ROCPE offers internships to students who want to experience the working environment of a non-profit foundation and get involved in our activities and daily office work. The duration of the internship is at least two and maximally three months. Home-Office is possible. It is a paid internship with a minimum salary of 475,86€.

We can consider candidates who:

• are interested in European foreign and security policy
• are a student of either political science, history, sociology, economics or any related area of study
• have a proficiency in English and German at C2 level, additional language skills are welcome
• knowledge of statistical methods is an asset
• applicants must be very open-minded and absolute team players and should have reasonable communication skills and self-reliance 

Insights into an internship at the FES Regional Office for Cooperation and Peace in Europe

We treat our interns as members of our team and try to give them an insight in our current research and policy advice activities. We also give interns the opportunity to take part in workshops/meetings if they take place in Vienna. There is no “typical internship” and no “typical set of tasks” since our projects differ. Depending on the skills of the intern, responsibilities may include:

• Desk research
• Literature review
• Assistance with administrative tasks and project management
• Copy-editing
• Minutes of meeting or summaries of events
• Participation in regular team meetings
• Work with statistics and data
• Work with social media, audio and video
• Co-authorship of policy papers
